Neurological Therapy
Neurological rehabilitation is addressed to patients with neurological diseases, its main objectives is to restore mobility, speech and prepare the patient to actively participate in everyday life. We treat patients with ischemic stroke, cranial trauma, spinal cord injuries and patients with chronic diseases of the nervous system as well as:
• discopathies
• strokes
• polyneuropathies
• multiple sclerosis
• fibromyalgia
• damage to the peripheral nervous system
• cerebral palsy
Orthopaedic Medicine by Criax‘a
By proposed in the method interview and by clinical examination we obtain complete information about the patient. Symptoms and signs are interpreted and catalogued as a "clinical practice" (ie, behavioural disorders or specific groups of disorders). For many disorders, the method offers local, direct, efficient and economical treatment. Differentiation can be done by a detailed history and functional examination. Thinking clinically according to the principles of orthopaedic medicine by Cyriax‘a, we have excellent opportunities for differential diagnosis. The exact location of the irritated structures can be recognized by the presence of localizing signs or by palpation.
Use:
• inflammation of the tendons, bursa
• degenerative changes, free articular bodies
• arthritis (rheumatism, mechanical)
• back pain
• instability, spinal stenosis
Manual therapy by Ackermann
Opportunities offered by the method of Dr. Ackermann are huge. The method of diagnosis and therapy according to the concept of Ackermann, is now one of the most effective and complementary methods of manual treatment.
It features fast and exact diagnosis and the therapeutic treatment here is precise and accurate. In carrying out the treatments the therapist knows exactly what he wants to achieve and why. There is no place for random treatments. In practice, the treatment requires a broader look at the causes of problems and their complexity. Compensation, which was started by "locked" pond requires an adequate procedures done by the therapist. Certain treatment techniques in this method are limited to exactly one segment and therefore only the vertebra, which causes pain to the patient is "unlocked".
Advantages of the method of Dr Ackermann:
• rapid assessment of pelvic movements
• immediate tests differentiating the functional and structural causes
• effective and efficient techniques for the correction
• the possibility of using alternative techniques
• treatments with the target (in a particular location and direction)
• 80% rule - the predictable direction of movements in certain segments of the spine
• high efficiency of the method of working with patients
well-executed operation does not require great strength of the therapist
FOI
i.e. FUNCTIONAL Osteopathy and integration, is an independent method of treatment of the musculoskeletal system. It follows the idea that all the joints of the body are interrelated. It constitutes an independent therapeutic concept of osteopathy and manual therapy. FOI ® through a holistic approach to a patient is a treatment of the whole body. It assumes that for the problems which arose in the movement area, the human organism reacts as a whole. The human body is forced to compensate the disturbance in some way. Practice shows that compensatory mechanisms are spread throughout the body, and always in a predetermined pattern.
Benefits of FOI:
• fast and efficient diagnosis
• the causal relationships easy to identify and treat
• rapid results and high effectiveness of techniques
• gentle and safe way to carry out procedures
• there are no contraindications for this type of therapy!
• ease in determining the course of negotiations regarding the treatment
• high efficiency of the method of working with patients
• alternative techniques for the manipulation
• techniques well suited for women (do not require much force)
The method by Brian Mulligan
The diagnostic -therapeutic concept of joint mobilization combined with movement. "REC‘s", "SNAG‘s", "reversed NAG‘s" and the mobilization combined with movement/ so called MWM‘s /. These are the techniques that act directly on the joints, and indirectly on the neuromuscular system. A novelistic approach involves the concept of a combination of passive movement performed by the therapist and the active movement performed by the patient.
The advantages of Mulligan‘s concept are:
• total painlessness when using kinesis therapy techniques
• functional load of the articular surface with gravity;
• combination of passive movement, mobilizing in the articular surface with an active angle movement in the same joint
• use of pressure at the end of the range of painless motion;
• making appropriate number of repetitions of the above-mentioned therapeutic procedures
• the "homework" for the patient, involving the implementation of tailor-made training
• patient is not subjected to passive therapies, but actively participates in it
Medical Taping Concept
Basic principles of the Medical Taping (Medical Taping Concept) come from Japan and Korea, where in the 70s the whole concept of this method started .The method consists of the application of a specialized flexible patch on the body, in a precise manner. Stuck on patch is a source of mechanical stimuli only (not impregnated with any drug) and, depending on the type of patch, how and where it is applied, it has various effects.
Use:
• back pain
• knee pain (e.g., ailments from the femoropatellar joint, "jumper‘s knee")
• shoulder pain, inflammation of the tendon sheaths (e.g., in the wrist)
• soreness surrounding attachments (such as "tennis elbow", "golfer‘s elbow", "heel spur")
• state after sprains and dislocations of joints, toe valgus (hallux valgus)
• complaints from the Achilles tendon
• swelling, joint instability, damage to muscles, ligaments
• improving the proprioception (better stability and coordination)
• improving the healing process after injuries and operations (such as the reconstruction of cruciate ligaments, or sewing the Achilles tendon)
• increasing the efficiency and capacity and reducing the risk of injury during sports
• correction of faulty posture (e.g. scoliosis)
• scars, hematomas
• indications for lymphatic drainage - lymph circulation disorders, swelling - occurring because of illness, after trauma or during pregnancy
PNF - basic and developing
The essence of the concept of PNF is included in the name: proprioceptive (receptors on the body) neuromuscular pioneering (facilitation) of motion. PNF offers patients a painless and functional therapy, that is compatible with the mobility needs reported by the patient and patterned on the natural movements of a healthy man. According to the PNF concept, study and therapy form an integral whole and complement each other. PNF offers natural movements, which run three dimensionally and are similar to the everyday activities. Taking into account, while planning the treatment, the motion needs and the problems reported by the patient brings many benefits and makes the PNF a patient-friendly method, based on painless work, using strong parts of the body and the ability of the patient to facilitate the re-education of the lost functions. PNF also guarantees a high level of patient education, based on a participatory therapy planning and continuation of exercises in the form of homework, with minimal equipment requirements.
McKenzie method
McKenzie method is a method of diagnosis and treatment of low back pain of mechanical origin. It is used with patients suffering from overload of the spine (low back pain, neck pain, lumbago, intervertebral discs, sciatica, neuralgia arm). It offers patients a system of independent dealing with pain. The system is based on accurate and detailed diagnosis of back pain, appropriate exercises (individually selected for each patient) performed under the supervision of a therapist and individually at home, as well as on the prevention of back pain- the therapist teaches the patient how they should function every day (how to get up , sit, work, dress, etc.) so as not to harm themselves. McKenzie Method is successful because its action is directed at the cause of pain and not just the symptom. The effectiveness of the method depends on the size of damage in the spine and the commitment of the patient in the healing process. The ultimate goal is to get rid of pain, restore full functionality of the spine, and to minimize the risk of disease relapse.
Manual Therapy - German School
Manual therapy is the treatment of reversible musculoskeletal functional disorders caused by changes in the joints, muscles and nerves in the spine and extremities. The method is applicable in cases of: cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine pain, painful shoulder syndrome, sciatica, tendonitis, muscle, limb paresthesias, joint mobility restrictions, neuralgia. Thanks to a wide range of therapeutic techniques, it allows the treatment of many dysfunctions and brings positive results.
Current methods of diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue
The method was created by combining several methods of diagnosis and treatment of soft tissues and various aspects of therapy. This allows for a holistic approach to the problem of musculoskeletal system dysfunction. An essential element of therapeutic success is a matter of patient’s self-therapy.
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology Taping is based on sticking on selected parts of the body (muscles and joints) a special plaster. The creator of this method is a Japanese chiropractor Dr. Kenzo Kase. This method is perfectly applicable in sport and rehabilitation. Patch application reduces pathological muscle tension, improves (facilitates) their function, improves micro circulation, activates the lymphatic system by reducing swelling, promotes joint function and reduces pain.
With this method it is possible to achieve excellent results through the action of sensory patches kinesiology tape, which have properties similar to our skin
The patch kinesiology tape can be applied in
• physiotherapy,
• struggle with pain, swelling,
• in the treatment of scars,
• in sport
• pregnant women,
• neurological disorders,
• post-operative therapy,
• in orthopedics,
• pediatrics,
• and many more
